THE BIG CHILL!

The big chill is a lot of things to me…

Cat ladies waving a giant inflatable banana on a stick, perverse universe, the art trail, the media mix tent, random new friends, ‘tiger tiger burning bright - burning kites right through the night’, amazing fancy dress costumes, sushi tents, Brothers’ pear cider, Camel cigarettes, wellies, talking to santa for about half an hour, sunshine, smoothies, corn on the cob, vegetarian curry, cool eccentric shops, fairies, elf and safety, poiing, reggae, drum ‘n’ bass, the massive bonfire, grass art, giant carts to move your belongings from A to B, mojitos in the sun, So-Co summer cup’s, giant letters, glow in the dark stick men wandering around… random hats, giant wicker women, random pianos in fields, just a few highlights of the Big chill.

Nevermind the dancing zebras who were wandering through crowds, coaxing us to follow them to their show… trying sushi for the first time, or the guy who attached a fan to a rocking chair, then proceeded to float around a field with an array of amazed/confused spectators watching in wonder.

As amazing as all these things are and are a big part of the festival, the best thing is…

The music!

Nowhere will you find the delights of Mr Scruff, Explosions In The Sky, Bonobo, Caribou, MIA, Massive attack, Thom Yorke, Netsky, Little Dragon, High Contrast, Easy Star All Stars, just to name a few… all in one place!

Some of my fave ambient and D’n'B artists all at one festival!

Throw in the lovely days time ambience and amazing night time festivities… this is definately a festival not to be missed for those chill out enthusiasts.

Can you play piano? Show off your skills with random pianos placed around the festival!!

I absolutely love his music, a must have for any music collection. His music paints pictures in your mind and totally enchants you. (Well, this is the effect he has on me!) Its hard to pick one tune by him, there are so many good amazing tunes… but heres one I really like. Hopefully it will urge you on to listen to more by him.

Also,

I’m really enjoying the musical talents of the Scottish brothers Mike Sandison  and Marcus Eoin. The duo make up the musical inspirations which are Boards of Canada.  I incorporate a lot of their music into sets… and is a must have for any ambient electronica fan’s music collection!

Here is one of my favourite tracks by them… Dayvan Cowboy. Beautiful music and an amazing video. Enjoy! ^_^
